Clearwater Alaska Grizzly Hunts.

Spring Grizzly Hunt

This hunt takes place out of my Yukon River hunting area. We are familiar with the bear movements in this area from moose hunting here during the fall. When bears come out of hibernation they often visit old moose kills. With this in mind we would keep an eye on the previous falls moose kill sites for signs of bear activity. Also, lots of time will be spent glassing from some of the hills in the area for bear. We will work very hard to ensure that your hunt is a success and that you have a great time in Alaska’s great outdoors. The effort we put into your hunt will be at least 100%!

Accommodations

The accommodations include a cabin with comfortable bunks to sleep on, electric lights, propane lights, and oil stove for heat. There are hot meals for breakfast and dinner with sandwiches and snacks for lunch in the field while hunting.

Transportation

Transportation between the cabin and the hunting areas is done on snowmachine. Gun boots are attached to the snowmachines to keep your firearms safe while riding. Snowshoes will also be provided in case they are needed at any time during your hunt.

Your hunting license and tags will be available for purchase when you arrive in camp. The cost for non-resident hunters is: $85 for your hunting license, $500 for the grizzly tag, and $30 for each wolf tag. Wolf trophy fee is $400 for the extra effort of preparing this trophy for your taxidermist.

Please contact us for an additional cold weather gear list for this hunt.

Fall Grizzly Hunts

This hunt is in combination with our moose hunt in September. The best method of taking a grizzly in the fall is after a moose has been killed. The bears have a keen sense of smell and the moose gut piles don’t last long before a hungry bear finds it. Hiding within range of these kills is a good way to add a bear to your trophy room! Grizzlies taken on this hunt are an add-on species to the moose hunt.

Licenses and tags

Your hunting license and tags are available for purchase when you arrive in camp. The costs for non-resident hunters are: $85 for your hunting license, $500 for a grizzly tag, and $30 for a wolf tag. Grizzly and wolf are an add-on specie and trophy fees apply. Grizzly - $4,500, and wolf - $400. However if for some reason you do not have an opportunity to take a moose, but take only a Grizzly on your moose hunt you will not be charged a trophy fee for your bear! We want to be fair and this is the best way we can think of.
